Installing Heatsink in DL380 Gen 10 - Use Thermal Grease?
Hello all,
I am trying to figure out how to install a standard heat sink correctly into a DL 380 Gen 10. The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Server User Guide on page 152 under the topic "Installing a 1U or high performance heatsink " describes how to remove thermal grease! the next topic "installing a processor" just talks about lowering and fixing the heatsink but does not mention thermal grease - confusing I find!
thanks for clarification
Georg

Hi
IIRC the heatsink should have the required thermal compond already on it.
Thanks

Re: Installing Heatsink in DL380 Gen 10 - Use Thermal Grease?
You need to appy it of course!
By the way, customers should not install CPU and heatsink, unless they have the special torque driver!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
