Intel AMT V5 Upgrade to V6 for KVM Remote Support !!

Hi all,

Is there anyone here who can advise on Intel AMT KVM Help.

We are in the middle of trying to work out waht new pc's we are to buy, we are restricted to size so we are looking to puchase around 300 x HP USFF Elite 8000 Computers, the partnumber is WB710et.

From what i can see this is the fastest small PC we can find.

I've bought one for testing and would like to use the new Intel AMT KVM remote control feature for remote management, from what i'm reading all i need is VNC Plus and to configure each pc with the right settings.

My problem is the PC comes with Intel ME Version 5.1, we need version 6.

Does anyone know if this can be upgraded ?

Hi,

Software upgrade is not supported from 5.x to 6.0 AMT version. You have to buy the 6.0 version of vPro device to get KVM support.

Hi

As far as i am aware you can not upgrade the Intel ME version 5.1 to 6.
You need to purchase devices already with ME version 6. Also if you require the KVM functionality you must make sure that you have a Intel Graphics card for this to work.
Ask your HP Hardware person for the models that fit these 2 requirements.
