Re: PCI slot types reference and specifications
Exact specfications for all workstations are at http://docs.hp.com
If you'd posted the machine type I could have been more specific.

Still looking for a document for PARISC/Itanium HP-UX Capable servers.. there used to be one. Perhaps it is described along with the server docus -- along with how many PCI, PCI-X capable slots each has.

Re: PCI slot types reference and specifications
"You can use a 32-bit card in a 64-bit slot and vice versa"
Good news!
So the 64/32 auto switching affects only the bandwith at wich the card will operate?
Thank you!

Re: PCI slot types reference and specifications
The newer PCI-e (PCI Express as opposed to PCI-X) offers what's called rails.. to denote max speed: x1, x4, x8 and x16 -- I do not know if eventualy PCI-e slots will in the future be adopted on the enterprise servers...
