Good day! I have a ProLiant DL360e Gen8 server in service with Intel Xeon CPU E5-2430 2.20GHz. I decided to upgrade the processors to Intel Xeon E5-2470v2 (2.4GHz / 10-core / 25MB / 8.0GT / s QPI / 95W, DDR3-1600, but the server with these processors does not turn on. I updated the BIOS to version P73 05 / 24/2019, but it didn't help. According to the specification this processor is supported. Tell me, what could be the problem?

Re: ProLiant DL360e Gen8e and inel 2470v2
Hello ,
I would suggest you use a supported processor with this server.

Re: ProLiant DL360e Gen8e and inel 2470v2
Hello!
I selected a processor from this list by the server part number, and it is in the specification list.
https://partsurfer.hpe.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=668815-001
Will the 2470v2 processor never work on this server?

Hello,
2470v2 processor will not work with your server.(DL360e Gen8e)
I would suggest use only supported HPE parts.

Regards,
Years later I found posts like this and I'm still baffled at the low-quality, superficial, non-sensical response given on the HPE forum by "HPE EXPERTS" or whatever they are called in their label.
HAVE.YOU.READ.THE.DOCUMENTS.?
(and yes, it's written like this because it's meant to sound like this!)
Per your previous answer, looking at https://partsurfer.hpe.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=668815-001 one would have found out that Part Number 729115-001 is indeed the Intel Xeon Ten-Core processor E5-2470 v2!
So the answer should have been: YES, the v2 is supported. But of course - and this is only one of the countless cases where I've seen this happen - the answer given was superficial at best, and inherently incorrect since it shows that the author ignored the source material linked by himself.
( Sorry for necroposting but I've seen too many responses like this over the years to just keep ignoring them: either don't answer or verify what you're going to write before sending someone on a wild goose chase, at best.)
