Proliant ML370 G5 iLO2 Firmware Update
Hello,
I have a Proliant ML370 G5 Server with Windows Server 2003 R2 Service Pack 2.
I have some problems regarding the hpqilo2 in the event manager and some restarts from the server.
Searching the Internet found that the hpqilo2 errors are related with iLO2.
My Firmware version of iLO2 is 1.61 and on you driver support page is the 2.33 (20 Mar 2018).
My question to you is, can I update the firmware of the iLO2 on version 2.33?
Thank you
John

Re: Proliant ML370 G5 iLO2 Firmware Update
Hi,
Yes, you can update the ilo2 firmware.
Suggestion: Since the current installed firmware is very low, you should install an intermediate firmware before updating to latest. let say 1.82 [consider installing the hpqilo2.sys" (health) device driver]
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX-7ac39b5ebc59499da055856d52#tab-history
We see following dependency:
Version:1.82 (9 Apr 2010)
Fixes
Upgrade Requirement:
Recommended - HPE recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience.
This is the latest maintenance/bug fix release for iLO 2.
Firmware Dependency:
This update also requires version 1.12.0.0 of the "hpqilo2.sys" (health) device driver.

Sudhir
