Server Console Switch (1x8) problem

We have may of these switches and from time to time we find some that when connected to a TFT5600 and turned on shift the screen image over to the right about 1/2". This can be temp. fixed by reseting to factory settings on the TFT but when you close the TFT and open it again (on/off/on) it reverts back to the shifting problem.
When I looked for a software update there is not one. Kind of makes the serial port useless! Suggestions?
