UPS - SNMP

Hi there,

At the moment all of our UPSes are connected via a DB9 cable. Is there a way to signal the UPSes via SNMP ?

Re: UPS - SNMP

Hi,

it depends on model of your UPS-es. What is the model of your UPS-es?

Re: UPS - SNMP

communicating with the UPS-es via SNMP may work in different way:

1. Accessory card for UPS with SNMP agent (check if your UPS-es supports SNMP accessory card)

2. SNMP Proxy running on OS (check if the management software bundled with your UPS-es contains SNMP proxy).

3. You can write your own SNMP proxy by using HP Extensible SNMP Agent

Re: UPS - SNMP

If your UPSs are HP-branded XR series (XR postfix in model name) and the serial card in the back of the UPS is slotted and removable, the UPS may support the SNMP-EN card http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/power-protection/options/index.html . With this card installed, you can manage the UPS via network using HPRPM 1.1 software

Thanks,
