Very high Temperature @ 53-CPU 1 PkgTmp in a ML350 Gen10
hi all,
i've a "special" situation... We have 2 ML350 Gen10 Servers (both on SPP 2021-10)
On 1 Server i have suddenly very high temperatures at the following sensor "53-CPU 1 PkgTmp"... over 80 degrees.
I turned the fans from 6% to 12% to keep the tempartures @approx. 70 degrees. The other server doesn't have this behaviour.
Any ideas what causes this phenomenon? A collegaue told me that everything seems ok in the server room.
Where is this sensor located?

1. Reboot.
2. Update Drivers

A reboot 2 days ago didn't bring the solution.
Which drivers do you mean?

Re: Very high Temperature @ 53-CPU 1 PkgTmp in a ML350 Gen10
Hi,
I would suggest to update the server by using latest Service Pack for ProLiant https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/swd/detail?swItemId=MTX_47182ec74e7647138acbe2c5a5
Then reboot the server and verify the working functionality

Re: Very high Temperature @ 53-CPU 1 PkgTmp in a ML350 Gen10
I've done a reinstallation of the latest SPP 2021.10... but the issue still remains!
Any other hints how to find the culprit? ESXi 6.7.0 Upd 3 is running on this server...

Re: Very high Temperature @ 53-CPU 1 PkgTmp in a ML350 Gen10
On the weekend i've done an upgrade from the SPP to the latest one... 2022-03 and also did an upgrade from esxi to the latest build! (6.7.0 Update 3 (Build 19195723))
But all these changes has no effects on the sensor. Still over 60 degrees... on the other hand the second server shows approx. 37 degrees!
Does anyone has further hints?

Re: Very high Temperature @ 53-CPU 1 PkgTmp in a ML350 Gen10
Hi,
I resolved this problem with changing the Thermal Configuration for FAN in the iLO
>>POWER & THERMAL >> FANS (on the right Panel) >>>Summary
I change the plan from Optimal Cooling to hte Enhanced CPU Cooling.
Please check this hint and give me a feedback
Best Regards
