libhpsrv.debug.log SUT deamon deactivate or logrotate - size increasing without any control

I have installed SUT in all our severs .

Linux version used: RHEL 7.8   kernel:  3.10.0-1127.19.1.el7.x86_64

SUT version:

Copyright (C) 2019 Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP
Integrated Smart Update Tools version 2.5.5.0 "5"

SUT send the logs into /var/tmp/sut but in there I got one type of logs:

1)  libhpsrv.debug.log keeps growing and doesn't rotate. so they are now more than 6GB

Anyone know how to deactivate this logs or force them to rotate?

if using logrotate I need to use postrotate command or logs don't write in the new rotated file

Did you ever find an answer to this?  The debug log is growing like crazy on just one server.  Very odd and I can't find any documentation about how to change that?

I suspect it might be happening because our iLOs are not in production mode.  After I ran sut -set ilousername=<username> ilopassword=<password> , it appears the log has stopped growing.

Re: libhpsrv.debug.log SUT deamon deactivate or logrotate - size increasing without any co

Old post, but as I have a similar problem...

I updated many Proliant hosts to latest ESXi 8 release 8.0 U3f + latest HPE Vendor AddOns (803.0.0.12.1.0-11) + latest Gen10/11 SPP firmware (2025-05). Now I'm getting errors regarding full ramdisk.

# vdf
...
sut-tmp                 256000    256000         0 100% --

# du -sh /opt/sut/tmp/*
...
235.6M  /opt/sut/tmp/libhpsrv.debug_1.log

...

I deleted the file an restarted services but the ramdisk starts filling up again. This is not isolated to a single host or cluster, it seems to affect all HPE hosts now.

I could not find a HPE advisory sut is on latest version. What is a bit strange is that vLCM shows Integrated Smart Update Tool as version 800.6.1.0.37 - Build 0 overwriting 800.6.0.0.37 - Build 0. But I can find any reference to version 800.6.1.0.37 anywhere. Neiterh in HPE SPP release notes, not in HPE Vendor AddOn package.

Any ideas, anyone experiencing the same? Opening a ticket will most probably result in a ping - pong between HPE and VMware support.
