We recently bought a pre-owned HP Proliant DL380 Gen 9 and a HP OEM Intel E810-XXVDA4 card.
We got the driver loaded:
$ ethtool -i ens5f0 driver: ice version: 5.15.0-101-generic firmware-version: 4.00 0x800118ae 21.5.9 expansion-rom-version: bus-info: 0000:84:00.0 supports-statistics: yes supports-test: yes supports-eeprom-access: yes supports-register-dump: yes supports-priv-flags: yes
But we cannot figure out to how to upgrade the E810 firmware.
* Intel's nvmupdate tool doesn't work (See link)
* The HP drivers (see link) won't load apparently because the DL380 Gen9 is using iLO4
So now I am wondering if the card is even compatibile with the DL380 Gen9?

Solutionclsoe but no cigar: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=a00116864en_us&page=GUID-CDFECCAD-1DB5-4435-A1C5-C24A60054BEE.html
The link above mentions the Intel E810-XXVDA2 card being compatible with various HPE ProLiant servers, but the specific combination of the HP Proliant DL380 Gen 9 and the Intel E810-XXVDA4 card is not mentioned.
