Add drives and expand an array on AIO 1200R ?

Greetings. I have a client with an existing AIO1200R with 8 300GB SAS drives. They have ordered 4 more drives to max out the config. The 8 drives are currently in a RAID 5 array. Not all of this has been allocated.
Can I physically add the 4 new drives to this array (will the software allow that) or would it treat the 4 new drives as a new array?
I'd like to minimize the storage lost to parity requirements. They are running ASM 1.4.2.
