HP Storage Works p2000 question

Looking for a clarification. Currently came across an HP Storage Works 24 x 2.5 chassis. What is the maximum size per HD that can be used with the system? Currently it has 24 x 300GB drives in it, however if I replace those with the 4tb (2.5in) hard drives will the system see the full capacity? Below is the link to the sale. Worth it for a home lab?

Hello @kasinmebo,

Can you please specify the product? Is that HPE StoreEasy or MSA P2000?

Re: HP Storage Works p2000 question

Hi,

I am assuming that the MSA model is P2000 G3.

The largest supported SFF drive as per MSA quickspecs sheet is 1.2TB SFF drive.    https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/c04168365.pdf?jumpid=in_lit-psnow-getpdf

You would need to delete the current vdisks and create new vdisk using larger capacity drives to make use of the complete capacity of new drives.
