HP Store Easy 1650 need to upgeade its OS

One of my customer have HP Store Easy 1650 NAS Server, with Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Std OS. Now we want to upgrade it into suitable version of Microsoft windows Server. If any one already do this type of activity, please share the steps and prequisites. I appriciate in advance for your valuable time and suggestion.

Hi  @Rabindra1987 ,

Storeeasy 1650 supports OS upgrade to  Windows storage server 2016.
This requires the purchase of OS upgrade kit.
I am not sure whether the upgrade kit would still be available for this end of support life model server.

From quickspecs sheet:

HPE WSS2016 Standard Edition Upgrade Kit Q0F57A
Current or previous generation StoreEasy 1000 systems running either Windows Storage Server 2012 or Windows Storage Server
2012 R2 Standard Edition Operating System can be upgraded to the Windows Storage Server 2016, Standard Edition Operating
System by purchasing Q0F57A.
This upgrade kit contains the physical media containing the new OS image and a new Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity (COA)
label that must be affixed to StoreEasy 1000 once the OS upgrade is complete. The new COA label is required to provide legal proof
or purchase of the new OS.
NOTE: Because of the requirement to affix a new WSS2012 R2 or WSS2016 COA label to the product after upgrade, the OS
upgrade image cannot be provided as a software download.

Thanks for sharing this, very helpful.. I wasn’t aware that the upgrade kit came with a new COA label, makes sense now why it can’t be downloaded.

Yes. That's correct. The OS upgrade file comes along with the upgrade kit.
