VSS problems with AiO 400
Hello,
I have problems with VSS and AiO 400. AiO server named AIO running budled software with SP1 for it. Second server running SBS 2003 R2 (named KOM00). AIO hosting KOM00's Exchange files (mailbox store, public folders, log). If I choose take snapshot from AioSSM (right click to FirstStorGroup>data protection>take snapshot) the correct session starts, but step 2 create snapshot set failed. In event log on AIO I found this record: EventID:0, source AIOSSM, containts text: "Job execution failedAddToSnapshotSet: Failed(VSS_E_PROVIDER_VETO)". On KOM00 in event log are these records:
EventID: 6, from WTSnapshotProvider, text: "The iSCSI Software Target Volume Shadow Copy Service Hardware Provider service could not prepare the snapshot for LUN 0x00000000 on AiO.blabla.local. 0x800706ba"
and
EventID: 12293, from: VSS, text: "Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Error calling a routine on the Shadow Copy Provider {2f900f90-00e9-440e-873a-96ca5eb079e5}. Routine details BeginPrepareSnapshot({2f900f90-00e9-440e-873a-96ca5eb079e5},\\?\Volume{39fa0d9b-bf96-11db-a211-4000008a4fac}\) [hr = 0x800706ba]"
iSCSI initiators V2.03
Both system patched.
on AIO applied SP1 for AiO400
on KOM00 command "vssadmin list providers" lists iSCSI as provider
I can create snapshot of E: (F: G:) drive (drive hosted on AIO) on KOM00
How to resolve this problem (to create correct snapshots on AIO, because without shapshot is DataProtector/backup useless)? VSS trace log doesn't show any error if I start this session (what must I find in VSS trace log diagnose problem? Log is huge about 1MB for one create snapshot operation).
P.S. This thread has eben moved from general to Network Attached Storage (NAS) (Small and Medium Business). - Hp Forum Moderator
