Hi: How do you get around the "Door Locked" message when trying to manually eject a tape?

The door is being locked by the host via the "prevent/allow media removal" command.

You can disconnect it from the host and power-cycle, and that will clear the lock.

The cause is probably one of these:

1) Windows RSM (Removable Storage Manager) service is running and locking the door, but it is not needed to manage the library (and drives). Look at the setup information for your backup app and see if it needs Windows RSM. Most apps manage the library directly, and do not use RSM, and it should therefore be disabled.

2) The backup app has an option to "lock" the doors, to prevent anyone from removing media inadvertently.
