20gb Backup stops during bkup then restarts after 15 min. No errors
I am using an HP Internal 20 GB Travan IDE tape drive (C4445) with Colorado Backup II software on a stand along PC running Windows 98 SE.
It works fine but about 2/3 way through the backup process, it just stops. No hard drive activity. No lock ups. No errors, in fact Colorado Backup II still runs the time clock but has to keep re-adjusting the time remaining.
After about 15 min. the tape units just starts up again and finishes the remaining backup as if nothing ever happened. No errors in the report at the end.
This only occurs on a full Drive C: backup. When doing a shorter data only backup of "My Documents" folder, it runs from start to finish with no stopping.
Any ideas?
I am puzzled as to why the tape unit "takes a break" during back-up.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
