AIT drive on Adaptec 1640 controller
NT4 on a laptop equipped with an Adaptec 1640D doesn't see the 35GB external drive 216883-002 (SCSI bus times out). If I try another device in the chain between PC and tape drive, it all works OK, but that's not an acceptable solution. I'm guessing the issue is termination-related and/or terminator power.
Can I get the AIT drive to produce terminator power (as needed by the Adaptec card)?
Do I need active high-byte termination?
Do I need to set the tape drive into SE mode by a switch?
Any help gratefully received.
Neil
