All files are copied during Incremental Backup on new tape

Description: incremental backup of an hard disk every week; software: Colorado Backup II v9; tape HP Superstore DAT40.

Problem: when a tape is full, I insert a new one, I initialize it and when the scheduled job starts, all files (new and old files already present in previous tapes) are copied on on the tape.

I want only new files be copied in the new tape, is it possible?

I would suggest you contact the vendor of the software - Colorado Backup II v9. Sounds like a problem in the software, not the hardware.

Is your full backup still protected in Colorado Backup?

Else an incremental backup will be a full backup again, as there isn't a a previous full backup to which the incremental has to refer.

You can protect the full backup permanent or for a certain number of weeks. This depends on your requirements.
