Archive Pythom
I have a Dell 1400SC NT4.0 Server with an internal Archive Python 06408-XXX backup unit using NT Backup with 4mmdat drivers on dds 4 tapes.
I am trying to restore with a HP Surestore Dat 40e to another NT4.0 computer using HP 4mmdat drivers. I always get a bad tape error, can you help?

Re: Archive Pythom
if drive wont read the tape, perhaps it is bad or corrupted. or orignal drive used to create the tape is mis aligned. (thus it will read its own tapes, but those tapes wont be readable on other good drives) or vice versa. dat40e drive should be able to read nearly all dds tapes, although wth less speed.
you may attempt to install the older python drive in the other machine in some fashion.
but if the tape is indeed bad, you are outa luck.
