Situation: Just installed Novell Netware 6-SBS, with SP3, on a Proliant ML350-G2, 1Gb with a internal DLT VS 40/80, firmware V051. On top of it I installed Arcserve Brighstor V7 with all available updates and patches.
During the backup I got the error: E1039 Failed to flush tape driver buffer - Drive or Media failure.
I tested the drive with HP_LTT and there it is working as designed. I also swapped the drive with another one, but that didn't help. I get the error with al tapes I'm using and the tapes are the correct ones and new.
Anyone any suggestions. I already searched all of the Internet (and I almost felt off).
Regards,
Dennis.

Re: Arcserve7 Netware6 Failed to flush tape driver buffer
Thanks, it solved the problem. First I got a strange message on Btrieve, but that was just once.
Considering you might know a lot of Arcserve, perhaps you know the solution to get rid off the problems with exploring through restore.
I changed BTI.CFG a lot of times and after the changes and recreating new databases, I'm able to expand my volumes. But only for a week or so. After a week, nothings hapens when trying to expand a volume.
Cheers, Dennis.

Re: Arcserve7 Netware6 Failed to flush tape driver buffer
I don't know that much about Arcserve. Suggest you pose the question on their support site. Sorry.

Re: Arcserve7 Netware6 Failed to flush tape driver buffer
I believe you will find that AS's stock answer is to upgrade to the latest version of BTrieve. Often this isn't viable if you've got legacy BTrieve apps on your server/s.
