ASSIST32 reports wrong Memory

Does ASSIST32.EXE work on XP?
ASSIST32 reports insufficient memory on the Troubleshooting screen. The computer contain 512M of RAM.

I am moving 8Gig Internal Travan from a retired Win 95 to a Dell system running XP. I downloaded ASSIST32 to evaluate my system to tell me how to set the jumpers on the tape drive and what IDE controller to use.

Re: ASSIST32 reports wrong Memory

I have never tested assist32 in XP but would not be surprised if it didn't work. I suggest you put it on the secondary IDE. If that controller is where the CD ROM is connected then check the jumpers on the CD ROM. More than likely they are set to cable select in which case the tape drive would need to be the same. IF you have a copy of CBII it will not work in XP however the native backup should have no problem.
