Backup and restore ACL's on Linux file systems
I've got HP Data Protector Express installed on a Debian 4.0 Linux box.
I am using ext3 file systems and some of them have the acl mount flag switched on. I can use getfacl and setfacl to operate on the POSIX access control lists on files and directories within that file system.
Unfortunately these don't seem to get backed up by Data Protector Express.
Is there anything I can do about this?
Do acls on reiserfs or xfs get backed up?
If I can't get it to work, I'll probably have to script something with set/getfacl upon mount.
Many thanks.

Re: Backup and restore ACL's on Linux file systems
Data Protector Express is only certified on Red Hat and SuSE versions of Linux and we have not seen this problem on either.
It looks like you are going to need to create a script to run before/after the backup job.
