C4435 Travan Data Cartridge

I am using a HP SureStore T20 Travan tape backup with C4435 Travan Data Cartridges.

We are experiencing error messages like 'Your Data is at risk, please use another cartridge' or 'The cartridge has reached the end of its useful life'.

This occurs after about 2 months of using the cartridge. I'm sure they must have a longer life expectancy than this.

I would be very grateful if someone has seen this sort of message before and can advise me on the best action to take.
