Can you use a Super DLT on a DLT Drive?

We've got a compaq/HP 35/70 DLT Drive, if I put a super DLT tape in the drive will it do any damage? or will it run as a regular DLT?

No, SDLT media is not compatible with DLT drives. Check this link:

Hello,

It won't work.

But vice versa... it will. I.e. putting a DLTIV tape into an SDLT drive.
