Re: Cannot open exchanger control device (Device type mismatch)
You can use the Remote Management Interface of the MSL Library if its connected in Network.
Open a Internet Explorer window and type the IP Address of the MSL Library.
You will get the RMI and login to the Library with the username and password.
Then click on Configuration and then change the Library Mode to Random.
Click Save.

Re: Cannot open exchanger control device (Device type mismatch)
Start a commandline session and go to
"D:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin"
type:
devbra -a
You will see some output like this:
=================
D:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin>devbra -a

===========================
The key thing here:
The path to the changer device (in above example scsi4:0:0:0) should be the same is an your backup specification.
Also note that your removable storage manager is currently controlling the media changer device. This can have some negative side effects. Best is to disable the RSM service and then reconfiure the library such that is access the changer device through the SCSI path.
