Hi All,
WHat are the possible methods of testing a tape drive ? The drive is CLAIMED but still it throws errors while taking backups.

Solution
If its an HP tape drive the best and easiest way is using HP Library and Tape Tools LTT.
They are free.

at the right under Product Information

Could you elaborate as to what kind of errors are flagged. Are the errors flagged in the backup software or in the syslog.
