clean + attention + media error
Hi, I'm having a problem with my 2 year old HP 1/8 Autoloader G2 (920 SCSI). It started with the clean drive and attention led being lit on and a media error on any job I tried. I have passed the cleaning tape multiple times and that resets the clean and attention leds, but as soon as I try to access any one of the tapes the error comes back on. Tape tools assesment test says the drive had 4 write errors while writing the 5MB test pack.
The tapes make no difference, it's happening with the old and new. Please help !
P.S. This thread has beenmoevd from Tape Backup (Small and Medium Business) to Tape Libraries and Drives.- Hp Forum Moderator

Re: clean + attention + media error
then you can run a longer write and read test, as 5 Mb is very small

Re: clean + attention + media error
Thank you Marino. But how do I know if a cleaning tape is expired ?
If it has an expiration date somewhere I can seem to find it. Where should I look ?
