Cleaning device
Hi,
We bought an HP proliant server and installed it in mid feb. As backup we use HP DD4-40 SCSI tape device. Though it works well, the cleaning led only went on once few days after we had it running. It never lights up? I perform cleaning task once in a while though. On another Win2k server, I have a Sony 9000 which cleaning led is on every 7-10 days!
Thanks in advance
Adam

Re: Cleaning device
This device should be cleaned once/week or after every 20 hours of tape pulling time.

Re: Cleaning device
Thanks for replying.
Since my backup takes 1:15 every day, the cleaning led should turn on every 2 weeks and a half or so? I don't think this was the case but I'll try and see.

Re: Cleaning device
Adam, don't misunderstand. I didn't say the light would come on every 20 hours, I said you need to clean it every 20 hours. There is no set time limit for it to come on
