Colorado T3000 and Abit Motherboards
Hello all. I inherited a computer from a neighbor. I have had a couple issues with it. When ever I start it up, the computer gets to the desktop, then suddenly restarts itself. Then it is fine. I did some searching on another forum and discovered that there are periodically issues between Abit Motherboards and tape devices. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had a solution or knowledge of a patch for me. Thanks

Re: Colorado T3000 and Abit Motherboards
Hi Justin,
My guess is the floppy controller is not fast enough. The t3000 requires 1Mb/second transfer rate to function and a lot of floppy controllers these days only provide 500kb/sec. There are some freeware diagnostics you can download to test the speed of your floppy controller. Might have to do a little searching on the shareware sites but they're out there

Here is a link to a freeware diagnostics tool to check your speed.
