comms drive error
Hallo Barrie,
I have a similar problem as Marco's.
(Defect drive C1537A in, replaced with a new one, which seems to be a standalone drive C1557A.
Please email me with the work-around solution.
My email is velser@netfidelity.de
Thanks in advance ..
Birger

Re: comms drive error
Hi Birger,
the drive you gave back looks a trade ready dds3 and the drive you received was a DDS-3 Autoloader Drive if this was the drv only - give it back...you will not get it to work as the the fw is setup to work together with a robot loader ---> if it was the complete autoloader - reconfigure:
enable the LUNs - logical unit numbers - in your scsi bios
reconfigure the backup sw
if needed set up the AutoLoader to run in stakker instead of autoloader/random access mode so it loads a new media whenever needed --> no extra sw needed but no random access or backing up to a speciffic tape possible and restores can tape loger as all media has to be checked...
