Compaq AIT 35 GB LVD won't overwrite
This drive suddenly started to eject the tapes before completing the entire backup process. The error message explains the tape is overwrite protected. The tapes were due to be replaced anyway but the same error occurs on the new tapes. I perform regular twice weekly cleanings of the drive and the Veritas backup version is 9.1. Does this mean the drive needs to be replaced? Is there any more diagnostic or solutions I can try?
