Compression on LTO 5
We have LTO 5 media for backup through "HP EJ014A StorageWorks Ultrium 3000", however I am not able to get 2.3TB unto a single media, even though Hardware compression is activated in the Backup Software. I could only get 2.1TB unto it.
I am using "Symantec Backup Exec 2012 R2"
To my knowledge, the media should be able to take 3TB compressed.
Is there additional configuration missing?

Only if you have compressible data. Jpegs or files that are already compressed, won't compress more.

Re: Compression on LTO 5
Thanks for the response.
I guess I do not have any chance of getting 3TB on the Tape, since most of my huge files a TIFF.
