I'm working on attaching a Dell PowerVault 132T (which is an oem for an Adic Scalar 24) 2 drive tape library to my HPUX hosts via fibre and I was just wondering if anyone else had this type of library attached to their hosts. I'm especially curious to know which driver you used (stape, etc) as this library will have two Ultrium LTO-2 drives in it.
I'm interested in any information you'd like to share regarding your installation/usage experience.
Thanks,
Mark

Solution
Mark,
You must add the following drivers to the HPUX kernel for the library:
-stape for the tape drives
-schgr for the robot arm
You should also see if the fibre/scsi switch in the Dell Powervault must be configured. On a HP library, mappings must be created so that the servers can see the library through the SAN. The same is valid for Storagetek libraries, so it might be the case for the Dell libraries as well.
best regards,
Kurt
