DAT 40 i on Win2k Advanced Server
- SCSI ID set (no conflicts)
- SCSI cable terminated
- SP3 installed
Server is HP TC4100, with 2 GB RAM (looking at other messages in this group, I thought this may be my problem).
When attempt to install, tape drive not detected, but can install manually, driver file shows no information within device manager.
When tape installed, HP Library and Tape tools cannot detect, (tried in NT minport and ASPI modes).
When installed backup, and Tapeware Admin cannot access any media in drive (various tapes tried).
Any advice / suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.

Re: DAT 40 i on Win2k Advanced Server
Disable Removable Storage Manager and any backup software engines in win 2000 services before running Library and Tape Tools

Re: DAT 40 i on Win2k Advanced Server
Stopped and disabled Removable Storage Manager and Tapeware services, then re-ran HP Library and Tape Tools - tape drive is now shown as RAID DummyDevice (address 1/1.15.0).
Still cannot use tape drive, with or without RSM and Tapeware services enabled.
Am going to try a different SCSI ID#, as I can't think what else to try.

Re: DAT 40 i on Win2k Advanced Server
Hopefully you have this drive on a seperate SCSI controller and not connected to a RAID controller. You will always have problems if it is connected to RAID
