Dat40e - drive is not able to be accessed in SGI IRIX 6.5 build 18

Hello,

For some reason my device does not work properly on a new Octane server box running the newer version of IRIX 6.5. The device does however, work just fine on an SGI Indigo2(really old box with older version of the OS).

Are there any minimum requirements as far as OS versions go to use this drive?

I tried editing the scsi file as following:{ DATTAPE, TPDAT, 2, 6, "HP", "C5683A", 0, 0, {0},
MTCAN_BSF | MTCAN_BSR | MTCAN_APPEND | MTCAN_SETMK | MTCAN_PART | MTCAN_PREV | MTCAN_SYNC | MTCAN_SPEOD | MTCAN_CHKRDY | MTCAN_VAR | MTCAN_SETSZ | MTCAN_SILI | MTCAN_SEEK | MTCAN_CHTYPEANY | MTCAN_COMPRESS,
40, 4*60, 4*60, 5*60, 3*3600, 512, 32*512, tpsc_default_dens_count, tpsc_default_hwg_dens_names, tpsc_default_alias_dens_names, {0}, 0, 0, 0,
0, (u_char*)0 }, and recompiled the kernel but no difference.

Almost forgot to mention, the configuration switch settings for 6 and 7 were changed from ON to OFF.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
