Data Protector Express error
I'm new to DPE. I'm trying to get a simple tape backup job setup. However when I run my job DPE gives an alert that says:
Error 2: End of data
While attempting to read from a file, the disk manager determined that the end of the file was reached.
If I press cancel on the alert, the log then shows an error like this (the full error report is attached):
Error 1040: No devices specified or all devices are now offline
The device status shows as running though. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
P.S. This thread has been moved from Data Protector Support and News Forum to Tape Backup (Small and Medium Business). - Hp Forum Moderator

Re: Data Protector Express error
For some reason connectivity to the destination device was lost.
What OS are you using and what type of device are you using?
If it was a USB tape drive try using a different USB port.
If it was a SCSI device, make sure it is on a different SCSI channel from the disk drives as this has been known to cause a conflict.

I've confirmed that it is writing that 15% of the data to the tape.
Is there a specific procedure that I need to go through to get the tapes ready for writing? Currently I erase and format. Thanks.
