DDS3 Autoloader Problem

DDS3 Autoloader Problem

I have a problem with a C1557 autoloader. When a tape was loaded into the drive, it would eject a few seconds later. I removed the drive from the autoloader and tried it, but had the same fault. I updated the firmware of the drive & this seemed to clear the fault. However when I have replaced the drive back into the autoloader, I am getting a "Drive Comms Error". The drive is a C1537. I have attached LT&T support ticket.

Re: DDS3 Autoloader Problem

You stiket is corrupted, could you repost it?
anyway, when you upgrade the firmeare on a autoloader, you should upgrade all toghether
The firmware version of the drive inside is different than an stand alone one, and if you change the firmware it will never communicate with the controller giving you the comm error.

Solution is to flash again the autoloader with last FW version

Re: DDS3 Autoloader Problem

Dear Barry,

You cannot run stand alone firmaware in a autoloader mechanism. The drive firmware can be updated in situ.
What is happening now.

Re: DDS3 Autoloader Problem

Autoloader is now talking to drive, but when tape loads from caddy into drive, it ejects after a few seconds. Both green & yellow LEDs on drive are constantly flashing.
