Difference between HP DAT DDS3 C1537, C1554, C1555

We need to replace some tape drives C1537 in a dedicated voice recording device. Currently they hold HP dds3 C1537 drives, but we cannot find any spare anymore in Belgium.
We ae able to puschase C1554 or C1555, which all have the same denomination (dds3 12/24 scsi internal), but I cannot find the differences anywhere.
Can anybody help ?

Re: Difference between HP DAT DDS3 C1537, C1554, C1555

C1537 is a Dat24 drive SCSI inquiry string i.e. all Dat24 drives identify themselves as C1537.
HP SureStore Dat24i tape drive model is C1555A/B/C/D. A SureStore drive always has label SureStore in the front panel of the drive.
C1554X is a "trade-ready" drive, this does not have SureStore label.

Numbers like C15XX-XXXXX usually point to OEM or replacement drive.

To find out which drive you need, remove the drive from server and check the bottom; there you will find a sticker which gives you the correct model of the drive.

Check for http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/cposupport/get_doc.pl?SNI=hpc1554add9627&LC=information_storage&Tfile=lpg51256 on warranty information on the drives.
