DLT Vs80, arcserv2000 and 29160lp scsi card I get scsi port error
I have been having problems with the vs80 ever since i purchased it 2 weeks ago. I have it hooked up to a E60 netserver using a Adaptec 29160lp scsi card with arcserve 2000 on a win2k server.
I can do small backups ok and the HP tape and library tools reports no errors. However on the main daily backup which is about 40GB and is ran over night I get Scsi port error or hardware error in the arcserve log and the back stops.(usually about 2-3 hours into the backup). I have installed the latest drivers for both the card and the drive and i have also updated to the firmware on the drive. Further more i have reduced the transfer rate in cards bios to 20MB/s and changed some other setting in the cards bios upon the advice from adaptecs tech support. I have also contacted HP tech support who could not help much and arcserv who i also contacted believe it is a hardware problem and i think they are right.
Please help
Thanks
Z

Re: DLT Vs80, arcserv2000 and 29160lp scsi card I get scsi port error
Hi.
Zahid:
Try disabling Domain Validation in the Adaptec BIOS, that doesn't go well with a tape drive.
Bayram:
Please note that Adaptec 19160 is NOT a supported controller for a server OS. It won't work.
