Duplicated MAC addresses in ESL library
Hi, I have ESL G3. Four LTO 7 drives in one cluster have the same MAC address. Installing only one of them it still have same MAC. Resetting to factory defaults doesn't solve the problem.

Re: Duplicated MAC addresses in ESL library
If all four LTO 7 drives in your ESL G3 library have the same MAC address, even after resetting them to factory defaults, this indicates an issue with the hardware or firmware of the drives or the library. It is highly unusual for network devices to have the same MAC address, as MAC addresses are unique to each device.
One possible explanation for this issue is that the MAC address is hard-coded into the hardware or firmware of the drives or library. This is uncommon, but it is possible for some manufacturers to use a fixed MAC address for certain components of their devices. However, even in this case, it would be unlikely for all four drives to have the same MAC address.
Another possibility is that there is a configuration issue with the library or the drives. You may want to double-check your configuration to ensure that there are no conflicting MAC addresses assigned to any other network devices on your network. You can also try updating the firmware of the library and the drives to the latest version to see if that resolves the issue.
Hope this help! Let me know

Re: Duplicated MAC addresses in ESL library
sleds and connected directly to network - all reports the same MAC. I know,
that MAC is burned in drive and can't (???) be changed, but they somehow
were changed (drives used to work fine) Maybe drive have own, burned MAC,
but it is possible to assign another one. Question is how to restore the
original address.

Re: Duplicated MAC addresses in ESL library
It would be difficult to provide plan/workaround without looking at the ticket. If this device is under warranty/contract. Please log a call with the BreakFix team to identify the fault and replace any component necessary.

Re: Duplicated MAC addresses in ESL library
How many frames do you have? Are they 12 drive frames or 18/24 drive frames? Where do the duplicate drives reside?

Re: Duplicated MAC addresses in ESL library
Hi, I have 10 drives (6 in right lower cluster, 4 in the right upper). Drives in lower cluster are ok, problem is with drives in upper cluster.
There are three clusters in frame, but one (left lower) is hidden by tape slots.

Re: Duplicated MAC addresses in ESL library
I have seen this before with connectivity between frames but never inside a single frame. I am thinking that there may be a bent pin on the connecter in the CLX or on the CPC. Or the cable needs to be replaced and it should be in this cable kit
822391-001 SPS-CABLE KIT HW REV2, 815359-001 SPS-Board Assmbly: 18/24 CPC3, 815364-001 SPS-Board: 18/24 CLX
