Error creating the volume shadow copy
I just updated my two five-year old pc computers with new ones. Since this update I am having a problem with tape backups. They contain the following error: "Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy: 8004230f. Reverting to non-shadow copy backup mode". After this warning there is a long list of files that were not backed up.
I had no problem on my old computers backing up to a HP 72 DAT using volume shadow copy. But now have this problem on both the HP 72 DAT, and on a new HP 160 DAT. My old system ran XP Pro SP2, while my new system runs XP Pro SP3.
I want to backup using volume shadow copy. Can someone please help?

Re: Error creating the volume shadow copy
Hi mdhodges:
If you are having problems running Volume Shadow Copy, the problem could be that you don't have enough disk space to perform a VSS.
Please make sure you have enough disk space to perform your VSS.

D Wong:
Thanks for the suggestion, but I have tons of disk space. That is not the problem.
