Error: Driver is not intended for this platform
Adapter: HP Single Channel Ultra320
Windows: Windows 2003 Small Business Server
Server: DELL
Backup software: Brightstor Arcserve 11
I've always been using a HP 40gb DAT drive but I'm now trying to install the Ultrium.
I've added the Ultra320 adapter. According to Windows the installation is correct although the scsi adapter is not shown during startup.
(I also have an older Adaptec Ultra160 adapter installed. Should I remove this adapter?)
Anyway, the tape drive is connected to the adapter and is listed in the Windows Device manager but with a red cross.
When I try to install the driver for the tape drive, I get the error "driver is not intended for this platform".
I have no idea how to solve this.
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Pieter

Re: Error: Driver is not intended for this platform
What do you mean with 'not seen during POST'?
After I posted this question, I noticed that the drive is mentioned correctly in the Backup Software by the way. And it seems to work from there.
Windows on the other hand still asks for the correct driver.
I added the new 320 adapter because I assumed this would increase performance.
Thanks,
Pieter

Re: Error: Driver is not intended for this platform
Thanks.
I want to use the 3rd party software, so I guess it will work this way.
We'll see: tonight the driver will make its first backup.
