Exchange problem with HP Data Protector SBS
Hello all,
I'm having a serious problem.
I've installed a SBS server with exchage and i'm trying to run a decent backup. We have purchased the HP DP express SBS licence. I keep getting the message in my log that DP wasn't able to backup my exchange files (mailstore files) because the file are busy.
These are the specific files:
Bkp: priv1.edb Error 3013: Object is busy
Bkp: priv1.stm Error 3013: Object is busy
Bkp: pub1.edb Error 3013: Object is busy
Bkp: pub1.stm Error 3013: Object is busy
Am i wdoeing something wrong? HP DP SBS edition should be able to backup my exchange server while it's running??
Please help, all help is very welcome, getting desparate.
THANKS !

Re: Exchange problem with HP Data Protector SBS
This forum is primarily for Omniback II / (Storage) Data Protector.
Unfortunately, Data Protector Express (DPX) is COMPLETELY UNRELATED to OB II / SDP, and so there are very few people in this forum who can help you.
My best answer... backup using Microsoft's NTBackup - and work out any problems between Exchange and NTBackup, with the help of the Technet web site.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx
Once the fundamental Exchange issues are resolved, then, you should be able to proceed with DPX.
Good Luck.

Omniback and NT problems? double check name resolution, DNS/HOSTS...
