External SAS HBA
I am unable to identify the right SAS for my Proliant DL 380 g7 server. Please let me know the right HP part number to order.

Re: External SAS HBA
The correct HBA would largely have to do with what sort of system you're trying to connect to - i.e. tape drive, tape library, intelligent disk array (P2000), "dumb" disk shelf (D2600/D2700), etc.

Re: External SAS HBA
Hi,
just for the argument's sake: whenever you have any question about a specific compatibility between a certain server and a specific storage device, you can always use SPOCK: http://h20272.www2.hp.com/Index.aspx (you'd need an HP Passport, but since you write here on the forums, you should have one).
In your case go to "Explore HP StoreEver Tape Hardware Interoperability" -> "ProLiant DL server platforms" and find the respective match of tape drive and server you have, then click on the checkmark and go to "Host Bus Adapter(HBA)" for a list of all supported HBAs for your particular need.
Thsi is given the fact, that you've posted in the Tape section of the forums. In case you need an HBA for some other device, just find the right section on SPOCK and check the same way.
Hope that helps!
Best regards,
Vlad
