Firmware Upgrade on 5Gbe Travan
To Whom May Reply,
Would it be possible to get the firmware that the 5Gbe shipped with. I recently upgraded and I am unable to do a restore. The error msg I keep getting is "REF: 07-0E-23-01-0304" According to the HP support this has to do with the firmware...Any help would be greatly appriciated. The drive currently has the 2.08...I never should have upgraded...

Re: Firmware Upgrade on 5Gbe Travan
Matthew-
I suppose you mean that you recently upgraded the firmware to 2.08 and now you cannot restore.
You may want to try reloading the 2.08 firmware to see if that fixes your problem.
(I suppose that's probably what HP support has already recommended.)
Maybe someone out there has an older version of the firmware that they can email to you.
Someone may have more ideas if you post again with your additional information such as your OS Version and information about which backup software and version you are using.
Also, you may want to download the tapediag software and try that too if HP support hasn't already had you do this.

If it works, don't fix it!

Re: Firmware Upgrade on 5Gbe Travan
Tim,
Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I already re-loaded the frimware again and I still am getting the error. The backup that I did was thru Windows 2000 backup utility. " Ntbackup.exe", I am attempting to restore on a Windows 98/se only because the software I am using to restore is the Sonic Backup MyPc. Eval ver. Since 2000 can no lnger see the drive using a thrid party software. Also, I cannot restore with the Windows 2000 product because you need the Catalog file and once I did the backup I ereased the system in order to re-build not knowing that that file is neede to do a restore. Again, Thank you for your input and I will attempt to get an older Firmware file.
Matt
