Frequent SCSI Tape Library Status Change/StorageWorks 1/8 Autoloader with a single LTO 2 tape drive
Anyone have any ideas on the issue below.
StorageWorks 1/8 Autoloader with a single LTO 2 tape drive.
There are storage agent events for the tape drive going to offline/online. This has been happening for quite some time. The tape drive was replaced a month ago under warranty due to faulty reading and other issues causing backups to fail. The events below will occur from one time to eight times pretty much on a daily or bi-daily basis. Any input would be appreciated.
SCSI Tape Library Status Change.
The tape library with SCSI target 0 connected to SCSI bus 1 of the controller in slot 3 has a new status of 2.
(Tape library status values: 1=other, 2=ok, 3=degraded, 4=failed, 5=offline)

How is your autoloader attached to the backup server?
Thanks.

The error occurs exactly for the number slots in the autoloader (8) with no rhyme or reason to associated a scheduled item related to backsup. Backups still complete successfully but it seems the storage agents are not functioning correctly. The server is running HP support agents 7.5 as well

Re: Frequent SCSI Tape Library Status Change/StorageWorks 1/8 Autoloader with a single LTO 2 tape drive
Did you ever find a solution to this? I have a 1/8 autoloader with an SDLT drive and I've been getting this error for a couple months now. I haven't had much luck finding anything on it but because I found this topic I'm hoping to find others in the forum.
Thanks,
Dave
