How to upgrade firmware up tu 3.6
Hi!
Using diagnostic software I have the error "Firmware rev '2.31' is out-of-date as of Wed Aug 24 19:00:00 2005; update to rev '3.60'."
How must manage the issue?
Thanks in advance
Emanuele

Re: How to upgrade firmware up tu 3.6
Sorry for the missing informations. I must upgrade a ESL9198 Tape Library.
I used "HP StoragWorks Library and tape tools" later unpacking the firmware exe file in the rigth directory as requested by the utility, but I've got the following error: "The 3MB memory module is incompatible with firmware
revisions 3.xx and higher. Likewise, the 5MB memory module
is incompatible with firmware revisions below 3.xx. Install
the correct memory module before performing a download with this firmware" Any suggestion?
Regards.

Re: How to upgrade firmware up tu 3.6
The firmware image of the ESL9198 - v3.6 requires a 5MB Memory module - this is in the robot controller board for the ESL libraries.
If the device is in the hung state you might have to install the previous version of the firmware 2.6 to get it functional
There is a way to tell which SIMM is install by a visual check, the 3MB SIMM only has chips on one side, the 5MB SIMM has chips on both sides
To install the latest firmware you need to have the 5MB Memory module in the Robotic controller
