HP and IBM LTO drives' compatibility

HP and IBM LTO drives' compatibility

Has anyone experience to reread tapes, written on a HP LTO drive, onto an IBM one ?
Maybe it depends on the soft way to create the tape !
Is there a way to assure a full compatibility between the two drives' models ?

Do you mean the Seagate Viper 200 drive?

We have both IBM LTO and HP LTO tapes and tape drives, and have no issues between the two. I know we tried with Omniback and been able to read tapes written to the HP drive and read from IBM drive. We reversed the process and were still able to read the tape. So far, we've seen no issues between the drives (and no big performance difference either).

Ultrium drives are made so that tape cartidges are interchangeable between all of them.
