Hp autoloader 1/9 and its firmware continued
Thanks to David Ruska for the quick informative response.
I was so excited for the information I assigned 10 pts but I should have assign 8 because I still need help. My problem is
the firmware, because I read the same tape
with the 230 and the 1/9 - autoloader 4 times
slower. We have recorded information on approx 700 LTO 100Gb tapes. My PC can run either Redhat 7.3 or
XP pro. What number do I call to get the LTT
password for updating the firmware via web?
HP U.K. had been trying to solve our speed
problem - they felt that it was due to the variable
record lengths. I will attempt to download
the E19V firmware. The drives fly with constant record lengths.
THANKS HP - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. YOUR PRINTERS ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT WORK UNDER
LINUX WITH LITTLE OR NO TROUBLE.

Re: Hp autoloader 1/9 and its firmware continued
Gail,
I responded to your original email thread.
I'd like to help understand why newer firmware would preform slower on variable length records, if that is what HP Bristol determined.
Send your email address to ltt_team@hp.com, and I'll get you an LTT password (just to speed things up - usually was suggest you call hp support).

The journey IS the reward.
