The 1/8 G2 autoloader is not supported 374654-B21 in 64 bit at this time.

You have to use a standard SCSI controller such as the A7173A - pci-x ultra 320

EDITED - somehow some text didn't make it

That particular HBA is <<< a preferred >> one <<< for the >>> G2 autoloader. It isn't supported under Integrity 64 bit but the ML350 is not an Integrity system. The EBS matrix doesn't distinguish between Windows 32 bit and Windows 64 bit.

The "HP Ultrium 3-SCSI Sequential" device showing up in the device manager is normal for the tape drive. You should also have an unknown medium changer listed. If you do not have an unknown medium changer listed or a 1/8 G2 medium changer listed then the HBA may not have LUN scanning enabled.

Check http://www.hp.com/go/connect and there is reference to some bios updates required for the ML 350G5 so you may need those if you are using a G5.

I agree with Curtis.

If you see unknown medium changer, you should have driver for medium changer.

If you can't find any driver for 1/8 G2, you can use the driver from MSL 2024.

Re: HP Storage Works Ultrium 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader

I have the HP 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader with an Ultrium 448 tape drive in it running on a DL360 G3 Windows 2000 Server machine.

To get this loaded, I had to use the drivers for the standalone Ultrium 448 tape drive which I downloaded from HP support site. The unknown medium changer was normal. The hplto.sys file that comes with the OS caused a blue screen crash when selected. You'll want at least 1.0.4.0 of hplto.sys that comes with the drivers for the Ultrium 448 standalone drive.

Since you are windows 2003, I don't know if this applies at all.
